Back From Vacation In Alaska With A Little Golf Included
Hi Everyone!
We have returned from our extended vacation in Alaska and are now ready to take on the day to day world again.
If any of our readers have never been to Alaska it must be added to your bucket list. Its beauty is overwhelming with the magnificent mountains, glaciers and wildlife. The people really do seem to live a more relaxed lifestyle and every single person seems to love it there.
We flew into Anchorage and the weather was perfect, sunny and 70 degrees. At the obligatory stop at a liquor store the clerk informed us that the previous summer they had one sunny day. (Yes I said one) That would be tough. The sun is shining until midnight which is great but in the winter it rises at 10:00 A.M. and sets at 2:00 PM. Ouch! The wife would never move so it really does not matter other than the late sun allowed us to play golf on the day we flew into Anchorage, our only opportunity.
We played at the Tanglewood Lakes Golf Club which from the tips is 1142 yards long with par of 27. Not exactly what we were looking for but at least we can now say we played golf in Alaska. I am not sure what I shot as we were sharing a set of rental golf clubs. My best guess would be around 18…roughly.
With things back to normal we plan to began contributing regularly again to our blog.
Until next time keep ‘em in the fairway.
